JUNEAU- A Celebrity Cruises spokeswoman says the ship that returned to port in Ketchikan last weekend after experiencing mechanical problems is scheduled to depart on Thursday.
Cynthia Martinez says the Millennium will head to a shipyard in the Bahamas for repairs. She says it will sail using its other propulsion motor.
Problems with the ship's other propulsion motors prompted Celebrity Cruises to cancel six sailings. The ship was in the midst of a seven-night sailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Seward when it encountered problems and returned to Ketchikan - one of the scheduled stops - on Sunday evening.
Martinez is a spokeswoman for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which owns Celebrity Cruises.
