An 8-foot paddle used in traditional dancing has been recovered in Juneau.

Reports say a resident found the paddle late Monday evening, two days after it was reported stolen from a car at a movie theater. It's appears to be undamaged.

Police say the paddle may have been dumped or dropped by thieves who were running away from the scene.

Various items were stolen from about five cars during the late Saturday show at Glacier Cinemas. Only the paddle has been recovered.

The dance paddle was first used at Celebration this year. The black-and-red paddle was crafted by carver Doug Chilton and Sitka dancer Wilbur Brown and his family. Brown dances for Keex' Kwaan of Kake.
