Troopers: 1 Man Dies in Alaska Plane Crash

Alaska State Troopers say one man is dead and a second was injured after a plane crash Monday near the community of Big Lake, just north of Wasilla.

 ANCHORAGE- Alaska State Troopers say one man is dead and a second was injured after a plane crash Monday near the community of Big Lake, just north of Wasilla.

Troopers identified the man who died as 66-year-old Kenneth Whedbee of Big Lake.
A second man, 37-year-old Jason Scott of Big Lake, was flown to a hospital with serious injuries.
The crash near Beaver Lake was reported about 1 p.m. Monday.
National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Clint Johnson says the plane was an experimental homebuilt Zenith 701.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
