KENAI- A Soldotna man was arrested following a standoff with Alaska State Troopers in which shots were fired.
42-year-old James M. Cook was arrested.
No one was injured in the hours-long incident Wednesday.
Troopers at about 2:30 p.m. tried to arrest Cook at his home. Officers had a warrant charging him with kidnaping and felony assault.
Cook was uncooperative and troopers surrounded the home with an emergency response team that included a tactical response vehicle.
Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says Cook fired once at the armored vehicle.
Lt. Dane Gilmore says Cook fired three to four shots in all but no troopers fired.
He says troopers released chemical agents into the home that make the air uncomfortable to breathe.
Cook was arrested shortly after 9 p.m.
