Hubbard Named to NCAA Committee
UAF Sports Information:
FAIRBANKS, AK – Pamm Hubbard, Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator in the University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics, was named to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Committee on Women’s Athletics. Her term of service on the committee will begin September 1, 2007, and continue through September 1, 2011.
The committee is dedicated to helping the NCAA in its efforts to provide equal opportunities, fair treatment and respect for all women in all aspects of intercollegiate athletics.
She joins Director of Athletics Forrest Karr and Alaska Rifle head coach Dan Jordan as the third representative and active staff member from the UAF Department of Athletics to serve on a NCAA Committee.
Karr was appointed to the Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules Committee and began his four-year term in the fall. The rules committee’s duties involve talking with constituencies (coaches, student-athletes, officials, administrators, etc) regarding playing rules and sharing feedback with the committee. Karr replaced Jeff Vizenor, head coach of the women’s hockey Division II program at Minnesota State-Mankato.
Jordan was recently named to the NCAA Rifle Committee, which focuses on developing and reviewing rules for rifle competitions, as well as selecting participants in the NCAA Rifle Championships. He replaced the University of Texas El Paso associate athletic director Lisa Campos on the rifle committee.
Hubbard began her current position as the AD for Compliance last September. She came to UAF from Sacramento State University (NCAA Division I), where she has worked as the Compliance Assistant and Administrative Assistant for the Hornets and had served a six-month internship prior to getting hired as a full-time assistant.
