ANCHORAGE, Alaska--

Idaho Steelheads 6, Alaska Aces 2

The Steelheads used three goals in the 2nd period to open up an advantage and take the lead for good from the Aces.

The Aces welcomed three new faces to the roster on Friday. Forward Shawn Skelly and Samson Mahbod join the team, along with defenseman Mike Baran.

The Aces are set for another match on Saturday with Idaho. Then they're off to Las Vegas for one game on Monday.

UAA 3, #14 Minnesota State 3

The Seawolves relied on two goals in the last 4 minutes of the game to secure a tie with the number 14 ranked team in the country--the Minnesota State Mavericks.

Those goals came from Blake Tachell and Bobby Murphy.

Five of the Seawolves points came at the hands of freshmen.

UAA is now 1-12-4 in WCHA play.

Dimond 3, West Valley 2

The Wolfpack of West Valley ventured out to two leads early in the contest. Chris Nicolai slapped in a wrist shot mid-way through the second period to put West Valley up, 2-1.

That's how the score would stand until the third period. Kenny Hausinger decided to take the game into his own hands.

Hausinger erupted for two goals within 5 minutes in the third period. The first coming off a face-off, while the second came in the dirty-zone in front of the goaltender.

The Lynx escaped the Wolfpack, and a heavy upset, winning 3-2.
