South Hockey Prepares for Thursday's West Match-upANCHORAGE, Alaska--Thursday night may provide an opportunity to see what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. For the time being, that unstoppable force has been West High. The Eagles have rolled to 8 consecutive victories over their opponents, including a big win over Service. However, the Wolverines of South enter into Thursday's contest as the only undefeated team left in the state of Alaska at the 4A level. South has also already notched a win against the reigning state champion Dimond Lynx. Steven Orizotti leads the Wolverines with 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists). Orizotti has already seen the Eagles once this season--a team he hasn't forgotten. In their last appearance, Orizotti grabbed two goals and an assist to lead the Wolverines past the Eagles, 6-2. Currently, West sits in a two-way tie for third place in the Cook Inlet Conference with 10 points. South sits atop the standings with a perfect 9-0 record inside conference play, and has 18 points to show for it. |
