by Your Alaska Link News Team

The South Wolverines are looking to stay unbeaten on the season, and jump 6 points on Dimond for first place in the Cook Inlet Conference.  The West Eagles are coming off a win over Service, that secured a third place tie with the Cougars in the CIC.  West can take over sole possession of third and add to their eight game win streak with victory over South.

Thursday night, 6:45 at the Ben Boeke Ice Arena, South and West meet again.  The first meeting saw the Wolverines win 5-2, Captain Steven Orizotti tallied twice for South and Nathan Wright stopped 19 shots.  Joe Chekan made 28 saves in the losing effort, while defenseman Steven Gustafson scored a goal on his former team.  Gustafson will not be playing for West Thursday night.

We made it out to West practice today, had the opportunity to chat up freshman goalie Joe Chekan and senior captain Max Osgood.
