UAA Falls to Coach's Former Team

ANCHORAGE, Alaska--There was a feeling of familiarity running through the Wells Fargo Sports Complex on Thursday night.

That feeling didn't show in the score--but rather, the emotional roller-coaster UAA Head Coach Ryan McCarthy was running through in the pregame.

The Seawolves squared away with McCarthy's former team--the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders.

The reunion wasn't a mutually friendly one, at that. While players shook hands--the two head coaches didn't say a word to each other.

UAA's Alyssa Horn added a game-high 13 points in the contest. The Crusaders held Horn to 2 points in the first 15 minutes of play. Horn also tallied 12 rebounds in the game for a double-double.

Horn's 13 points came on 3 of 14 shooting.

Alli Madison shot 4 for 10 from the floor and put up 11 points. Four of Madison's 11 came off the transition.

Northwest Nazarene never trailed in Thursday's game. In total, 11 players tallied points for the Crusaders; Compare that to the Seawolves six players.

Northwest Nazarene 76, UAA 49
