ANCHORAGE, Alaska--

Dimond-West 4, South-Bartlett 1

Typically, the early bird gets the worm. Not so in Wednesday's girls hockey match that pitted Dimond-West up against South-Bartlett.

South-Bartlett scored in the lone goal in the first period with a beautiful shot by Mackenzie Millen. The assist on the goal was given to Katie Knight.

But that's the only offensive production the team could muster.

The second period featured some uneventful play in relation to the latter period, but Sara Peters mustered a goal to tie the game at 1. Kendra Robbins got the assist on the shot.

Dimond-West then scored three insurance goals by Pauline Tufi, Allye Brodie and Brandi Muller.

Tufi's goal with 10:53 remaining in the game came on a deflection, and was able to put the puck past South-Bartlett goalie Zoe Scherer on the left side.

Scherer saved 23 of the 27 shots on goal in the game. Her counterpart, Isabella Sellers blocked 14 of 15.

Dimond 14, Bartlett 1

The Lynx used an impressive 10 goal first period to ease any thoughts of an upset from the Bartlett Golden Bears.

Dawson Glover notched a hat-trick in the contest, and three other Lynx players tallied two goals in the win.

Bartlett's Joel Johnson scored with five seconds remaining in the game to deny the Lynx of a shut-out.

Dimond improves to only one loss in-conference; Bartlett is still winless in Cook Inlet Conference play.
