Kodiak Volleyball Sweeps Peninsula Teams

SOLDOTNA, Alaska--The Kodiak Lady Bears volleyball team travelled to the Kenai Peninsula last weekend for four contests between Kenai and Soldotna.

Thursday vs. Soldotna (26-28, 25-18, 25-13, 25-18)
Hannah Wandersee tallied 11 kills and 22 digs in the four-set win. Thursday's Soldotna contest would be the only match over the 3-day away stand that would go into four sets. Summer McKechnie added 31 assists and served up four aces for the Lady Bears.

Friday vs. Kenai (25-18, 25-9, 25-12)
Megan Pyles stepped up in the Lady Bears Friday match with 7 kills and 5 aces. Wandersee tallied 11 kills and 22 digs to lead Kodiak.

Saturday vs. Kenai (25-6, 25-11, 25-14)
Erica Rodas and Wandersee tallied 11 and 9 kills, respectively. Isabelle Riina finished their contest against Kenai with four aces and 13 digs.

Saturday vs. Soldotna (25-13, 25-18, 25-14)
It was another Wandersee show in the latter part of their Saturday double-header. She finished with 14 kills as the Kodiak Bears won in straight sets. Carissa Cannon netted eight kills and 16 digs.
