ANCHORAGE, Alaska--The West High Eagles hockey team is quickly garnering recognition as a force in the Cook Inlet Conference. This coming off their fifth win in as many tries.

Thursday's match-up against the Bartlett Golden Bears provided an excellent tune-up opportunity before taking on East and Service next week.

The Eagles scored three unanswered goals, the latter of which featured a beautiful top-shelf shot from Ryder Schwamm.

The Golden Bears would get on the board in the third period courtesy of Chance Aquino. He slid a shot right past the West goalie to light the lamp. Credit Joel Johnson with the assist behind the goal on the play.

West High's Codie Cope added a break-away goal later in the third to push the Eagles to 4-1, and West would notch one more goal to push ahead to a 5-1 victory.

The Eagles have now won five in a row, including six of their last 10 contests. They'll take on East High School on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Ben Boeke.
