ANCHORAGE--- Where is 34-year-old Mary Anne Alexie? That's the question family and loved ones are wrestling with this holiday season. While others are running around picking up food for their upcoming Thanksgiving feast, the Alexies have spent the last 40 days searching for the woman who means so much to them.

Mary Anne was reported missing after traveling to Anchorage to attend Alaska Career College. On October 10th around 3a.m., reports say Alexie spoke to friends over the phone and mentioned that she was lost in Spenard.

Her family says she hasn't been heard from since.

"I felt like someone took her, its not like her to not be in contact with somebody in her family," said Mary Anne's sister Josephine Guynes.

Even though police haven't found anything to go on, the Alexie family continues to search for Mary Anne and hopes by keeping her name in the media, someone will come forward.

"Someone saw something, someone knows where my sister is," Guynes said.

Describing her sister as caring, and fun loving, Guynes hopes she is not forgotten. She recounts several found memories of her younger sibling.

"She used to have to have a Reese a day, the candy, Guynes laughed. "We had those stashed away for her, because she had to have one a day."

Alexie is 4' 11'' tall and weighs 120 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Anchorage Police at 786-8900.
