ANCHORAGE- The city of Anchorage is taking steps to prepare Alaskans if disaster were to strike.
Although the government will do what it can to help those in the event of an emergency, there are precautions individuals can take.
Anchorage's Municipal Manager talked with us about a few things you will need.
"So remember you have food, water, clothing, supplies to last you for at least seven days, some place where you can readily grab them and always have a back up plan where you can go somewhere else if you cant use your house," said George Vakalis, Anchorage Municipal Manager
