(PALMER, AK) - Thursday was Agriculture Appreciation Day at the farm in Palmer. Officials from the University of Alaska Fairbanks hosted the event, which brought out more than a thousand participants.

The event is a mix of a county fair, open house, and educational opportunity. Officials from the UAF School of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences give the community a chance to see the current research at the Matanuska Experiment Farm.
