Promoting Psychological Resilience in the U.S. Military. That was the subject of a commanders call at JBER Wednesday. Command level officers from around Alaska gathered to learn how to help their troops better face the stresses of a post 911world.

U.S.Public Health Service Commander George Durgin briefed the group on a year long study that has been released. Army officials hope programs developed from the information will allow returning troops to have a better transition after combat deployments.

Coaching, connecting and empowering are key components of the new "In Transition" program being offered to soldiers upon their return. Support for service member families is also a big part of the plan. An outreach center is staffed around the clock. For more information call 866-966-1020.
