Anchorage, AK - For drivers out on Alaska roads celebrating this weekend, Alaska State Troopers want to make sure you are doing so safely.

Troopers are urging drivers to not drive impaired, especially during this holiday weekend.

So far from August 13th through the 24th Troopers have arrested 44 people for DUI.

"With Labor Day weekend, everyone is out driving, they are enjoying the state, great weather, they're going to go out and have fun and we appreciate that, we want them to have fun, but we want them to make good choices when they are out and about and one of those choices is to not drive while impaired," said Megan Peters who is a Spokesperson for the Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers urge the community to call 911 immediately if they suspect a driver is impaired, and they say the more information you can give about the vehicle and the direction it's traveling, the better they will be able to track it down.
