American Red Cross Street Party: Taste of Mardi Gras

by Your Alaska Link News Team

This weeks wind storm left many Anchorage residents without power, The American Red Cross of Alaska and the The Alaska Travel Industry Association has planned an event that can help you wind down.

The Eighth annual Taste of Mardi Gras fundraiser will be held Friday evening on 4th avenue, between G and H street.
It is said to be an old fashion block party complete with live music, street performers, food tasting, and wine garden.

The fundraiser began eight years ago as a way to raise money for the victims of hurricane Katrina. Now the money raised this year will stay here in Alaska to help with local relief efforts.

"it will be a great time for people to unwind for a short week, but I look forward to seeing everyone enjoying themselves." said Katie Bender, American Red Cross, Director of Development and Marketing.

Break Down of events:
-Cajun Cuisine Tasting (5-7pm)
-Live Music: The Rebel Blues & Nervis Rex
-Street Performers
-Beer and Wine Garden
