ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police arrest a man believed to be responsible for a vehicle/pedestrian hit and run collision that left Zachary Mohs, 27, severely injured. He remains in the hospital recovering and has lost a leg as a result of his injuries.
Luke M. Jerde, 20, is charged with 1st degree assault, failure to render aid, reckless driving, tampering with physical evidence and driving without insurance. Police say the incident happened in the evening hours near the intersection of Arctic Boulevard and Tudor Road. On September 20, witnesses reported seeing a red Fiero,driven by alleged Jerde, leave the scene of a collision where Mohs was struck and suffered severe head injuries. Jerde's bail is set at $3,000 plus 3rd party custodian. |

*snickers* Gee, MJ. I would have LOVED to have seen that one!! Never an editor around when you need one!!! Seriously--Congrats to the APD for finding the driver. Too often they get away. Hope they hang the driver by the kachobies!!!

Last line of second to last paragraph needs to be edited. I believe it is supposed to say "severe head injuries" no "SEVERED head injuries." Just sayin'.
