Anchorage Woman Remains in Critical Condition

Kristen Reid, 30, was found in a ditch early Monday morning after police say she was a victim of a violent attack from an ex-boyfriend now being identified as Bukurm Miftari, 21.

Kristen Reid, 30, was found in a ditch early Monday morning after police say she was a victim of a violent attack from an ex-boyfriend now being identified as Bukurm Miftari, 21.

A passer-by reported an blue Chevy Tahoe parked in the middle of Fairbanks Street, in midtown, off International Airport Road. Reid was found in a nearby ditch next to the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

She remains in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon, and doctors are not sure if she'll survive.

Miftari remains in an Anchorage jail. He's charged with attempted murder, assault, kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence.
