ANCHORAGE- A man on the lam since being indicted in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl after she was allegedly injected with heroin has been taken into custody.

The U.S. Marshal's Service says in a Monday statement that 36-year-old Max Raymond Jewett was arrested Friday in Peter's Creek. Authorities say he had tried to alter his appearance and attempted to persuade officers he was someone else.

Both Jewett and Sean Michael Warner were indicted Aug. 26 by a federal grand jury with drug trafficking resulting in death and distribution of heroin resulting in death. Warner also faces a state manslaughter charge.

The charges stem from the December 2011 death of Jena Dolstad, who died a week after attending a party at Warner's Anchorage home.
