Bank Robbery Suspect Charged

Anchorage, AK - A bank robbery suspect has been caught and charged.

The FBI says James Donald Surrells robbed the First National Bank on East Northern Lights Boulevard on August 13th.
Surrells according to reports first got to the bank around 10:12 AM and then after leaving for a few minutes, entered the building around 10:24 AM.
Agents say Surrells then approached a teller window and held up a piece of paper with both hands which read, "I have a gun. give me 100's, 50's and 20's." 
Surrells then reached inside his coat pocket and placed his hand on his gun.
The FBI says Surrells got away with a little over $1,200 in cash.
Surrells was arrested on August 16th when his vehicle ran out of gas and he was stranded on the side of the road.
He was later identified by relatives and others and charged with Bank Robbery on August 27th.
Surrells is being held at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
