The call to police came in just before 7 a.m. Tuesday that a passerby had found a man floating face down upstream from the Ship Creek Dam.

The mid thirties aged male had been drawn down to the base of the damn by the current of the creek.Members of the Anchorage Fire Department were only able to recover the remains after opening a sluice gate.

Initial reports from police at the scene indicate there was no foul play involved in this case.

Positive identification is pending from the medical examiners office.
