ANCHORAGE, AK- Prices of meat are at an all time high.

In fact, the price of a pound of ground beef is up 56 percent from 2010 according to the U. S. Department of Agriculture.

With Memorial Day weekend right around the corner, most Alaskans like to celebrate by barbecuing a nice cut of beef.

And because this is a special weekend, not all Alaskans will will let the price tag deter them from celebrating how they want.

"I think people still want quality meat, they may skimp on other things but when it comes to meat, people like to eat and in Alaska they like to barbecue," said Pat Muzzana, Owner of Mr. Prime Beef.
