ANCHORAGE- A southeast Alaska couple say the remains of their stillborn daughter were stolen from their vehicle when they were in Anchorage for a medical appointment.

Shawna Coby had a doctor's appointment Friday at the Alaska Native Medical Center. When Coby and her husband returned to their van they discovered a window had been broken and a backpack had been removed. The backpack held a small box containing the ashes of their stillborn baby daughter, who they named Grace.
The couple, who are from Kake, filed a police report and are asking that whoever took the bag return the ashes. They say the box containing the ashes can be anonymously dropped off at the ANMC information counter.
