Deadline for storm disaster assistance extended

Alaska officials have extended the deadline by a week for state disaster assistance for damages caused by November storms in southwest Alaska and flooding in the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

ANCHORAGE- Alaska officials have extended the deadline by a week for state disaster assistance for damages caused by November storms in southwest Alaska and flooding in the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

People now have until Friday, Jan. 24, to apply for assistance.
As of mid-December, teams in Stebbins, Kotlik, the Fairbanks North Star Borough and the Kenai Peninsula Borough have verified more than 90 applications for disaster relief.
