Details surface after assisted living home fatality occurred Tuesday evening

 Anchorage, AK-- Anchorage police say the victim who was shot and killed Tuesday evening at an assisted living home was Eduardo Escalante. He was 63. 

Jennifer Castro, Spokesperson for the Anchorage Police Department, says the man who allegedly took Escalante's life is Paul Miller and was escorted by APD in handcuffs in his wheelchair. 

Miller is facing a one count first-degree murder charge and a one count second-degree murder charge. Miller will be arraigned in court Wendesday afternoon. 

Castro says APD learned about the incident after dispatchers received a phone call to the 300 block of a location off East 24th Avenue in Midtown late Tuesday afternoon reporting that a male had been shot multiple times. 

When officers arrived,  Escalante was deceased prompting a death investigation which remains ongoing.
