Fairbanks fire leaves some Alaskans homeless

A fire in Fairbanks left at least 50 Alaskans homeless.

FAIRBANKS- A fire in Fairbanks left at least 50 Alaskans homeless.

 
The fire broke out at an apartment building on geraghty street around 4 a.m.
 
18 units of the building are destroyed.
 
As crews worked to control the flames, the building started collapsing, which forced firefighters to work on the exterior while the fire spread inside.
 
The assistant fire chief says some apartment residents are still unaccounted for.
 
Minor injuries have been reported, with at least one person taken to a hospital in Seattle for burn injuries.
 
Official cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
