ANCHORAGE - A fathers worst nightmare, not only finding out that your only son was murdered; but that it happened while you were thousands of miles away.

Last week the man accused of murdering one year old Ezekiel Dockery was arrested.
Dockery's father, Brian Dockery says his worst nightmare has become a horrific reality.

"my family is just at a loss..Ezekiel was just bright and full of joy, always smiling, always happy, " said Dockery.

He learned last month from police that his only son was beaten to death at a home in Wasilla. Just weeks before his second birthday.

"I've been feeling feelings I've never experienced before a total loss all around," said Dockery. "I love my kids equally but there is no relationship like a father and son."

Brian Dockery lived in Alaska for about a year with the child's mother, their son Ezekiel and their four year old twins.

Now he's fighting desperately to get custody of his two girls.

"my main focus right now is getting my girls home...he meant the world to all our family, he was just so special."

On march 21st police responded to the Wasilla home after a report that Ezekiel stopped breathing. At the time the mom's 40 year old boyfriend, Jyzyk Sharpe, told police the toddler slipped and fell trying to get into the tub.

An investigation later revealed it could be more than an accident. Thursday, Sharpe was arrested and charged for the child's murder.

"it's the hardest thing that I have ever been up against and I pray and hope that no one has to ever go through this," said Dockery.

Dockery says he only had a little more than 700 days with his son but for him it's a lifetime of memories.

"that's 100 weeks and that was the most cherished days of my life, that I can never get back but I will always cherish for the rest of my life," said Dockery.

This fathers greatest fear has already come true and now he says he will do whatever it takes to make sure his two little girls don't see the same fate.
