Foundation Encourages Non-Profit Development

Twelve Alaskan Organizations Receive Support

The Alaskan Community Foundation awarded nearly $40,000 dollars recently to 12 Alaskan organizations.

The non-profits were chosen for their efforts in making effective strides in the areas of leadership development, organizational development, evaluation of effectiveness and community involvement.

"When Alaska's non-profits receive better tools, improve service platforms and enhance staff capacity, their ability to better serve on mission is increased," states Candace Winkler, President and CEO of the Alaska Community Foundation.

Over the last three years the ACF has awarded more than 70 groups close to $400,000 dollars through their "Strengthening Organizations"
program. The capacity building grants average between $3,000-$5,000 WITH A CAP OF $10,000.
