HOPE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say human remains were
found in a burned cabin in Hope.

Troopers say the remains have been sent to the state medical
examiner's office for positive identification and an autopsy.

Troopers were notified shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday that a cabin
on Resurrection Creek Road was engulfed in flames.

According to troopers, residents in the area said the occupant
of the cabin was believed to be inside. Troopers did not
immediately release the occupant's name.

Hope volunteer firefighters and Cooper Landing firefighters
responded to the fire.

Troopers say the state fire marshal's office is investigating.
