JUNEAU- A benefit dinner in Juneau has raised more than $21,000 for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

More than 500 people attended the fundraiser Saturday night.
Juneau's Filipino community earlier this month decided to cancel its traditional Thanksgiving Day meal and instead hold the benefit.
Filipino Community Inc. president Dante Reyes says the outcome of the event exceeded expectations.
