Juneau police arrest man suspected in stabbing

Juneau police have arrested a man suspected of stabbing a family member.

Reports say 33-year-old Wayne Walter Williams was jailed at Lemon Creek Correctional Center and is being held without bail

Police on Friday afternoon took a call that a woman had been stabbed at a Douglas Island home.

Hospital staff told police the woman had been stabbed 14 times. Police say the wounds were serious but apparently not life-threatening.

Police at 3:35 p.m. Sunday took a call that a man fitting Williams description was on a beach near Douglas. Police arrested him without incident.

Williams is charged with felony assault.
