A 28-year-old Ketchikan man suspected of trying to burn down his own home has been charged with arson.

Alaska State Troopers say Jonathan Hamilton was arrested Sunday. He's also charged with assault.

Troopers say they took numerous 911 calls shortly after 4 p.m. about a disturbance. Investigators responded to the home, where Hamilton was arrested.

Troopers say Hamilton drove toward a family member and was charged with assault and reckless driving.

He's being held without bail at Ketchikan Correctional Center.
