ANCHORAGE- We all know breast cancer is the leading cancer diagnosed among women in America, but one hospital is making it quicker for women to get tested.

"As women, we are known to be very busy," Eseta Poulivaati, scheduler with Providence Imaging Center."

So Providence hospital is bringing the mammogram to you.

"We are just making it one step easier for us to be at their work site, and one step right outside their front door routine screening and for them to go  back to their busy lives, " Poulivaati says.

Since 1996, Providence hospital established an unique program: a van with a portable mammogram.

"A portable mammogram that would push out to a building, women who needed that mammogram would go to that room and get that test," Nathan Switzer, manager of communications from Providence hospital says.

A decade later, the van transformed into the Mammobus.

"It's 34 feet long and get their test inside and the technologist not only drives the the monster truck but performs the examinations, so its pretty cool," Switzer says.

Imagine a world where waiting in line is no longer the norm. Fifteen minutes, and your screening is complete, thanks to the mammobus.

"For us to do a one stop shop makes it easier for women especially in the work environment," Poulivaati says.

Happy patients equals happy health care providers.

"For me to give back to the community make scoming to work a very blessed exerperience," Poulivaati says.

Nationwide, a quarter of a million women were diagnosed. To save one life makes the mammobus a road to success.
