New Program Helps Single Operator

Just in time for the busy spring and summer flying season in Alaska the Medallion Foundation is offering a single pilot 135 aviation safety program. The Foundations mission is to prepare Alaskan pilots to expect the unexpected.

Designed with the smaller operator in mind, this new program gives the single pilot operator the same advantage the larger operator has when it comes to training materials and tools. Course instructor Doug Ankney is excited the foundation is able to offer this opportunity. "These are expensive courses to attend, these are some of the benefits of belonging to the program"

Participants in the new course can expect to take anywhere from six months to a year to earn their "star" of completion from the foundation. According to Ankney duration of the course depends on the size of the operation "A single pilot operator could have several different airplanes and several different missions, so it would take longer to write up programs and procedures, for the safety of the operation"

Medallion has just upgraded their helicopter simulator for rotor craft aviators too."New software, better graphics, better control of the helicopter". According to Ankney the bigger program on these aviation training devices really steps up the realism factor for aviators "Real flight controls and audio panel, near photographic imagery, surround visuals. Users are excited"
