Anchorage police have the man in custody; suspected of shooting an officer at about 11:30 this morning at a hotel off of 5th avenue and Sitka street.
5th avenue, commercial drive, and parts of 3rd avenue were closed during the incident; and finally reopened at 1:30.
The suspect surrendered to police as swat officers neared the door.
Paramedics assisted the man to a stretcher.
He was taken to the hospital and treated for gunshot wounds.
Anchorage police say the man was likely injured when police returned fire during the first incident around 11:30.
Detectives were at the Merrill Field inn interviewing a possible suspect of a burglary.
When shots went through the hotel room and hit one officer.
A man and woman with the suspect were arrested and taken in for questioning.
