ANCHORAGE- Alaska State Troopers say a 61-year-old Anchorage man died after his motorcycle rear-ended a car on the Seward Highway in the Girdwood area.
Troopers say John Beyers was heading north on his motorcycle when he rear-ended a northbound sedan driven by 60-year old Gerald Hanson of Anchorage at about 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Troopers say another motorcyclist, 67-year-old Robert Farrington of Anchorage, collided with Beyers and his motorcycle. A third motorcyclist escaped the collision.
Beyers was transported to Providence Alaska Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Farrington was treated for minor injuries.
Hanson and his passenger were not injured.
