WASHINGTON- Senator Murkowski along with fifty plus senators voted in favor in DC today to continue the debate that would extend long term EOC benefits to millions of Americans including sixty five hundred Alaskans.

Officials are saying because of economy issues, the federally issued long term benefits were discontinued in December forcing unemployed Americans to really look for jobs.

The big step forward not only puts a positive step for out of work alaskans, but if its passed, it would extend the benefits for another three months.

Unemployed Suzanne Evans says the recent cancellation of her EOC has her desperately searching for work.

"I was disappointed, I felt well, I am going to have to look harder for work and not give up, that's what i have been doing, not giving up and looking for work. Trying my best, even if it's temporary work," Evans said.

The bill for benefits will continue on later this week with a final vote.
