New Assembly Members

ANCHORAGE, AK- Tuesday night at the Anchorage Assembly old members said goodbye and new members took their seats.

Former East  Anchorage Assembly member Adam Trombley's seat was replaced by newcomer Pete Petersen.
"It feels great. It was probably the shortest meeting I will be at all year but it is a combination of hard work and now I will have to roll up my sleeves and go to work for the people," says Pete Petersen, Assembly Member.
And former Assembly Member Chris Birch stepped down for Bill Evans.
"Its is a relief and it is good to get the campaign over and have all that hard work pay off and actually get to be here and do the job we were shooting for the whole time," says Bill Evans, Assembly Member.
The newly compiled Assembly will waste no time getting to work.
The Assembly will meet Wednesday to discuss budget revisions.
"I knew it was going to be a short honeymoon so to speak after the election got over because they said the fifteenth was our first meeting and now I'm ready to go," said Petersen.
Assembly members Elvi Gray-Jackson, Bill Starr, Tim Steele and Patrick Flynn were all re-elected.
The first item of business on next Assembly's agenda is the Anchorage city budget.
