ANCHORAGE -  Two bombs exploded near the finish of the 117th Boston Marathon Monday, Killing at least 3 people and injuring more than 100 others. Runners world-wide take part in this event including Alaskans.

According to records at least 41 Alaskans were registered for Mondays race, the news left many Alaskans wondering if their loved ones were injured in the blasts.

Officials at the athletic retailer, Skinny Raven were shocked by the news and say many of their customers were competing in the marathon.

"we've gotten a lot of questions about knowing Alaskans..we all know those people, we all participate in events...we participate in marathons and for something like that to happen in a setting like that were all affected even if we don’t know anybody specifically," said John Clark, Prime Minister of purchasing.

The first explosion Clark says went off directly in front of a colleagues store, he and others took to social media for updates on the whereabouts and conditions of Alaskans in the race.

"It's supposed to highlight and celebrate the best things about what we do as runners and as athletes and for this to happen is really sad because it casts a shadow over all those types of things for those that participate in events," said Clark.

At last check the death toll rose to 3 fatalities and at least 140 injured, no reports of those injured being from Alaska.

This is totally awful, the peace loving people of America must stand up to these cowards who commit such inhuman acts. Do not go home and bury your head in the sand, stand up and throw the sand in the face of these terrorist and continue our daily lives, yes maybe be more alert of your surroundings, but get out there and show acts like this won't make us hide from them!
