It's a system of care designed by Alaska Natives, for the Alaska Native people.

The Southcentral Foundations Nuka System of Care is created, managed and owned by Alaska Natives to improve physical, mental and emotional health.

More than 150 people from around the nation came to Anchorage over the weekend to learn more about the health care system.

Nuka Care has been an international success in health outcomes, bringing efficiencies and customer and employee satisfaction.

"It all circles our relationship and our customer-owners we're hearing from our customer-owners and how to design what they want, how they want it, through healthcare delivery and then we implement it," said Southcentral Foundation President and CEO Katherine Gottlieb.

Alaska's delegation has publicly recommended Nuka System of Care as a model for national reform.
