It was a sad story on the east side of town Tuesday night, 13 year old, Mary Robicheaux was hit by a vehicle while riding her bike.
The collision happened near the intersection of Nichols and Northern Lights shortly after 8pm. Authorities with the Anchorage Police department say the young girl was riding her bicycle in the crosswalk when, 21 year old, Jordan Tuttle Struck her with his 1997 Toyota Camry. Tuttle was traveling westbound on Northern Lights when witnesses say he failed to yeild for the flashing red signal. " I always encourage bicyclists to keep eye contact with the drivers...and motorist make sure that your watching out for cyclist, you know thy are smaller and harder to see," said Anita Shell of the APD. |
