Power Company Uncovers ScamPay Attention To Suspicious E-Mails.
Municipal Light and Power is letting the public know about a scam aimed directly at it's customers. Earlier this week an employee of the power utility received an e-mail scam aimed at stealing their identity information. The fraudulent e-mail promising a $1,000 Visa gift card from the utility but there is no such offer.
Last month the American Power Association warned utilities of a multi- state scam already claiming victims in California, Texas and Tennessee. If you receive this offer please call the Municipal Light and Power Service Desk at (907) 263-5340. |
