Preston Pollard inspiring Alaska's youth

ANCHORAGE, Ak--  Freshman at West High School kicked off their first day of school with a little inspiration.

Preston Pollard, born and raised in Anchorage and a graduate from Bartlett High School, talked to them about chasing their dreams.

Pollard moved to California to follow his dram of becoming a professional skate boarder.

Having achieved that goal he went on to become a montivational speaker, a model, hosting a TV show-- including working for Oprah's OWN Network.

He says it's always a priviledge to come bakc and talk to students in Alaska.

Being only 26-years-old Pollard has accomplished more than many have in a lifetime.

But he says it's importatn to alwasy keep moving forward adn working towards other goals.

Pollard stressed the importance of graduating to the freshman at West.  

He says onces you graduate anything is possible.

Pollard has also spoken and inspired young kids in Jamaica and Australia.

He will also be speaking at UAA on Saturday.
