Rep. Gara Recovering from Surgery

Mark Gnadt says Gara underwent surgery Tuesday and is recovering. He says Gara is waiting to hear from doctors on how successful the surgery was and how long he will be hospitalized.

The press secretary for the House Democratic caucus says Rep. Les Gara is recovering from surgery related to his cancer diagnosis.
Mark Gnadt says Gara underwent surgery Tuesday and is
recovering. He says Gara is waiting to hear from doctors on how
successful the surgery was and how long he will be hospitalized.
Gnadt says doctors need to do some standard follow-up tests. He
says he doesn't expect Gara to return to Juneau until the middle of
next week at the earliest.
The 49-year-old Gara last week disclosed that he had been
diagnosed with what he called a low-level prostate cancer.
Gnadt says Gara has been checking email occasionally and was
pleased that Gov. Sean Parnell had signed into law his fishing
stream access bill.

Though I do not like how he votes I have empathy for his situation. He works out at the gym I am at in Anchorage. I hope the best for him. I have spent some time in the hospital too.
