Satellite law campus at Alaska Pacific University

ANCHORAGE, Ak-- Seattle University is taking steps to bring a law school to Alaska.

Over the last twelve years, Seattle University has had a program at Alaska Pacific University where students from all over the country could take the trip to the last frontier to get an internship and take an Alaska law course.

Now they'll be able to spend Summers and take their entire third year at APU

"It serves two roles. One is the convenience in allowing Alaskans to stay here and also there's a diversity aspect to it with the bench an the bar as well and it's something Seattle University is committed to," Stephanie Nichols, Seattle University.

The program is still pending approval form the American Bar Association, but the goal is to start offering courses in the Fall of 2015.
