Snowstorm causes travel problems near Deadhorse

It may be warm and sunny in many parts of Alaska, but winter is not done on the North Slope just yet.

Reports say travel is not advised Monday on the on the northernmost portion of the Dalton Highway because of a winter storm.

The Alaska Department of Transportation says there's blowing and drifting snow from the storm packing 40 mph winds.

Driving conditions are rated difficult to hazardous near Deadhorse, between Miles 355-415.

The DOT says there are drifts up to 4 feet deep covering parts of the highway, and several vehicles have become stuck in the snow.
