A new fire has started this evening near Soldotna. Unconfirmed reports hearing the fire is 80 acres and have also heard near 1,000. Again unconfirmed reports. Crews are battling this blaze. No evacuations have been given at this time as there are no homes being threatened at this point. The fire is about 2 miles east of the Soldotna Airport burning south along the River Horse trail system. Due to the strong winds the fire is growing bigger and bigger. More details to come as they are available.
