City officials urged residents to limit their travel and stay home if possible to avoid inundated roadways. An Emergency Operations Center was set up at the city council chambers and officials urge residents to report flooding, power outages and other issues. Shelters have opened up at Moose Pass school and Seward High school. At 6:30pm school was confirmed to be cancelled for tomorrow at Seward elementary, middle and high schools. The Box Canyon water diversion structure was also compromised and began flooding. Updates are being posted on the city's Community alert page. |
